Day 01: Kota Kinabalu / Kinabalu National Park (Lunch / Dinner)
Pick up from your hotel and depart for Sabah’s most popular National Park, the Kinabalu National Park, driving past paddy fields and native villages. Gazzetted as a World Heritage Site in 2000, the Kinabalu National Park is home to the tallest mountain in South East Asia, with 264 species of birds recorded and a staggering amount of flora and fauna. Arrive at the Kinabalu National Park, join the park naturalist for a jungle walk on one of the guided trails. Afterwards visit the Park Mountain Garden. View the majestic Mount Kinabalu – towering 4,095.2 meters above lush tropical jungles. Lunch at the restaurant, after lunch additional nature walks are available. Dinner & overnight.
Day 02: Kinabalu National Park / Mt Kinabalu (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Breakfast at the resort
After breakfast begin ascending up Mt Kinabalu from Timpohon Gate – 5.5km from Park Headquarters. Walk up the natural staircase of tree roots and rocks to reach the first camp at 3,322 meters. Spend the night at Laban Rata rest house (basic amenities only: dormitory style, hot water, heater and blankets).
Day 03: Mt Kinabalu / Kinabalu National Park / Kota Kinabalu (Breakfast/Lunch)
Today’s ascend to the summit begins at 03:00 am to witness the breathtaking sunrise view from the majestic summit of Mt Kinabalu. On the way down, enjoy the sights of unique flora that surrounds you, such as rare plants, rhododendrons and orchids. Look out for the pitcher plant that feasts on unwary insects. Descend to the Park Headquarters and transfer back to Kota Kinabalu.
