Drive through the interior districts of the state of Sabah before sailing the waters of the Garama River on a wildlife safari searching for one of the most unusual primates in the world, the bizarre endemic proboscis monkeys of Borneo. See at first hand the life of orphaned baby Orangutans in their natural habitat and learn about the related rehabilitation and conservation efforts. Dip yourself in the crystal clear waters of North Borneo and relax by the beach while you sip the juice of a fresh handpicked coconut.

Day 01: Arrival – Kota Kinabalu
Arrive in Kota Kinabalu, meet with our representative and transfer to Langkah Syabas resort. Free time at leisure to relax with a chance to taste the local cheese produced at the resort. Overnight.
Day 02: Kota Kinabalu – Garama river (Breakfast & Dinner)
After breakfast free time at leisure at the resort.
At 14:00 depart for Beaufort, a 2 hours overland transfer to the southern part of Sabah. Arrive at Garama River Lodge and transfer to the mangrove swamps forest filled with its own distinctive beauty. Welcome drink will be served with choices of hot or cold beverages. Enjoy the rural scenery before boarding the boat for a river cruise which will take you through the intricate mangrove system that contributes to the scenic value of the Garama River. Proboscis monkeys can be spotted most of the time on the trees feeding on young leaves, shoots or fruits and seeds. Among others you will have the opportunity to observe other wildlife such as Macaque monkeys, the rare Silver Langur, Water Buffaloes and a variety of birds such as Pied Hornbills & Kingfisher. The cruise will last till sunset after which, you may witness a natural show of thousand of Fireflies. On certain times the trees around you will turn into bright Christmas trees! Return to the lodge for a BBQ Dinner and thereafter return overland to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 03: Kota Kinabalu (Breakfast)
After breakfast free time at leisure till the 12h30 transfer to Nexus Karambunai Resort. Afternoon at leisure for relax and beach activities. Overnight.
Day 04: Kota Kinabalu – Orang Utan Conservation Centre (Breakfast)
09.00 – After breakfast visit the Rasa Ria Orang Utan Conservation Centre. This is the home of many Orang Utans and it is nowadays a centre for the study of Orang Utan biology and behavior. The center offers an increasingly rare opportunity to view Orang Utans in their natural habitat. Unlike in a zoo, the Orang Utans at the Centre are set free in this large forest reserve. Afternoon free at leisure for relax and beach activities. Overnight.
Day 05: Kota Kinabalu (Breakfast)
After breakfast free time at leisure for relax and enjoy the various activities offered by the resort. Overnight.
Day 06: Kota Kinabalu – Next destination (Breakfast)
After breakfast free time at leisure till your transfer to Kota Kinabalu airport to catch the next destination flight.
Airport pick up & drop off, accommodations, meals as stated, tour & activities, entrance fees, overland transfers, English speaking guide.
Meals not stated, alcoholic beverages, optional tours and expenditure of personal nature, tips and gratuities for guides, travel insurance.

**This tour is available on a S.I.C basis as well as a P.V.T basis. Read on to better understand the difference between the two types of tour and what to expect.

S.I.C – Seat In Coach
A S.I.C tour stands for Seat in Coach Tour which means you’ll be sharing an air conditioned van/bus with other fellow travelers with an English speaking tour guide. A S.I.C tour is a great way to share your travelling stories with others and make new friends.
P.V.T – Private
A P.V.T tour stands for a Private Tour which means that from your arrival until your departure you’ll be fully escorted by your personal tour guide and driver, on your own personal air conditioned van. On a W.G.T private tour you won’t be mixed with other travelers when sightseeing and transferring except in some cases where a private basis isn’t obtainable. Upon availability a foreign speaking guide can be requested. A private package is more flexible and great for groups of friends, families, newlyweds couples etc…
