Day 01: Arrive in Borneo – Kuching
Meet & greet at Kuching International Airport – Malaysian Borneo – and transfer to your hotel. 14h00 hrs, depart for Kuching city tour. Visit the old White Rajah buildings, open markets, temples and mosques. Finally visit the Sarawak Museum, with its ethnologic and fauna exhibits. After the tour transfer back to your hotel. Overnight.
Day 02: Kuching – Batang Ai (Breakfast / Dinner)
Breakfast at the hotel. 08h00 hrs depart for an overland transfer to Batang Ai. Stop at the Semenggoh Orang Utan Conservation Centre and at Serian city for a visit to a traditional open market. Visit a pepper farm, before a short stop at Lachau village. Time at disposal to buy some presents for the Iban people and shop for handicrafts. Proceed to the Batang Ai jetty. Upon arrival at the jetty, transfer by boat to the Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort. Spend the evening at leisure to enjoy the facilities at the resort. Dinner and overnight at Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort.
Day 03: Batang Ai (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Breakfast at the resort. Depart for a visit to the Batang Ai Longhouse – an authentic dwelling of the local Iban tribe (who were head hunters in the past) – with a traditional longboat (Perahu Panjai). Explore the longhouse and learn about the lifestyle of these friendly natives. Witness a traditional dance (ngajat), a cockfight and a demonstration on the use of a blowpipe – an ancient hunting weapon of the natives that spew poisonous darts with deadly accuracy. Lunch at the longhouse. Return to the Hilton Batang Ai in the early afternoon. Free at leisure in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort.
Day 04: Batang Ai – Kuching – Kota Kinabalu (Breakfast)
Breakfast at the resort. After breakfast transfer to the jetty by boat and transfer overland back to Kuching. Lunch (not included) en route. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Kota kinabalu. Meet and greet at the airport and proceed to check in at the hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight.
Day 05: Kota Kinabalu – Mt. Kinabalu (Breakfast & Lunch)
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Sabah’s most popular National Park, the Kinabalu National Park gazzetted as a World Heritage Site in 2000, which covers 754 sq km and is the home of the tallest mountain in South East Asia, acclaimed to have 2/3 of the world’s flora which some are endemic to the state of Sabah. Arrive at Mesilau Nepenthes Trail at 2.000 meters above sea level, and look for the carnivorous plants (Nepenthes). View the majestic Mount Kinabalu – towering 4,095.2 meters above lush tropical jungle. Lunch in a local restaurant. Return to the hotel in the afternoon. Overnight.
Day 06: Kota Kinabalu – Sandakan – Kinabatangan River (Lunch / Dinner)
Departure transfer to the airport for the flight to Sandakan. Meet & greet at Sandakan airport. The tour begins with a visit to the World’s Largest Orangutan Rehabilitation Center, Sepilok. At the center, witness the Orangutan feeding by the rangers. Walk along the plank wood to the realm of Borneo’s tropical lowland jungle. Visit the outstanding brand new Sepilok RAINFOREST DISCOVERY CENTRE, with its rich botanical garden and pristine jungle. Depart for a 02 hours journey to the KINABATANGAN RIVER, passing by local villages and green rainforest. Arrive at the lodge, check in and lunch. Late afternoon cruise up the Kinabatangan River to search for wildlife or notably the proboscis monkeys. Fauna of the Lower Kinabatangan Reserve includes Borneo pigmy elephants, hornbills, gibbons, and many birds. Dinner and overnight.
Day 07: Kinabatangan River – Sandakan (Breakfast)
Breakfast at the lodge. Wake up in the early morning by the calls of hornbills and other exotic birds. Proceed to the Ox Bow Lake to observe the wildlife and experience the early morning river ambience of the longest river of Sabah, looking for the many birds and monkeys that look for food. Return to lodge for breakfast. After breakfast transfer overland back to Sandakan and transfer to the airport.

NOTES: 1) Animals are wild and free in their natural habitat, the spotting of wildlife cannot be guaranteed. 2) The transfer Sukau – Semporna jetty, where you can embark for a beach holiday to the islands of Mataking / Pom Pom / Kapalai / Mabul, is available with an additional charge. 3) The transfer Sukau – Sandakan jetty, where you can embark on a seaside stay at the Lankayan Island, is available with a surcharge. 4) For those who go to Lankayan, regarded as a departure from Sukau to Sandakan Harbour at 7:00 am, the morning excursion to the lake Ox Bow is automatically cancelled (without refund). 5) The transfer Sukau – Sandakan airport, is based on the flight MH 2047 with departure at 12.50 pm to Kota Kinabalu. For departures before 12:50pm, a private transfer with additional surcharge will be necessary.

**This tour is available on a S.I.C basis as well as a P.V.T basis. Read on to better understand the difference between the two types of tour and what to expect.

S.I.C – Seat In Coach
A S.I.C tour stands for Seat in Coach Tour which means you’ll be sharing an air conditioned van/bus with other fellow travelers with an English speaking tour guide. A S.I.C tour is a great way to share your travelling stories with others and make new friends.
P.V.T – Private
A P.V.T tour stands for a Private Tour which means that from your arrival until your departure you’ll be fully escorted by your personal tour guide and driver, on your own personal air conditioned van. On a W.G.T private tour you won’t be mixed with other travelers when sightseeing and transferring except in some cases where a private basis isn’t obtainable. Upon availability a foreign speaking guide can be requested. A private package is more flexible and great for groups of friends, families, newlyweds couples etc…
